Hello and happy Fall!
Yesterday we officially began Fall.
The leaves have been showing us their beautiful colors already. The air is crisp and we've even built some fires in the wood stove. *Aaaahhh* So nice.
A great way to celebrate the equinox yesterday was the Lunch Wraps Workshop at the Hunger Mountain Coop. We had fun and everyone samples 3 types of wrap sandwich spreads. How fun to be able to celebrate the local harvest and make delicious LIVE sandwiches to boot. Thank you for coming to these workshops with your enthusiastic and hungry selves. It's great to be able to play with and talk about food with you. So the other day, Pat - my friend, neighbor and photographer said she wanted to take a walk. And do you know what she wanted to have join her on her excursion? My food. She wanted to take new pictures of them. I'll post more up on the website but here is a small sampling: I call this one "Hempy Trails"
isn't that beautiful?
This one I call "Heavenly Chocolate Butters"
God Butter & Goddess Butter - YUM YUM! I call this one "Ta-DAAAA!!"
This is Pat having fun on the Worcester Mountain Range - careful Pat!
Thanks Pat! I always love the way you photograph stuff.
Some interesting stuff to read (and hopefully you can take some RAW action!):
If you'd like to contact your Congressional reps or Senators to weigh in on this or any subject, here's the links: http://www.house.gov, http://www.senate.gov Chocolate Hemp Milkshake
Trying to go along with the whole hemp theme. I got this recipe from goneraw and I reworded it a bit...
"Makes a big, tall glass of happiness. Easy and excellent way to wake up in the morningkeeps you going all day long." Ingredients
Preparation
Soak the medjool dates in 1 cup of water for 10-20 minutes. Add the dates and the soak water to your blender along with hemp, cacao and salt. Blend on high until smooth. You may want to grind cacao beforehand if you don't have a high powered blender makes a smoother drink. Throw the banana in (frozen is better) and some ice and blend again until thick like a milkshake. You will be tempted, but don't drink too fast brain freeze.
Linda's note: medjool dates are usually quite soft so you really don't need to soak them if you don't want to
OK, I'm outta here. Enjoy your week and start adding some raw food to replace something less-than-stellar in your diet today!
