Hello Good People!
Hoping you are well! I took a spur-of-the-moment kind of trip with the kiddos for a few days last week. Went to NJ to pay a visit to my mom's grave (haven't done that in about 12 years and it just felt like the right thing to do) also went to the BEACH TO SEE THE OCEAN!! (My old friend), then up to CT to see my aunt/cousins briefly and to Viktoras talk at Glen's cafe and then back home. I have to be honest when I say I was never pulled in the direction to read anything by Viktoras and so I never read his book, never attended one of his talks. I am, however, VERY glad I went. I even commented about it on Kevin and Annmarie's site. (You have to scroll down about 2/3s down for my comment but I encourage you to watch the whole clip and read all the comments and add your own.) I think Viktoras did a very good job at his role of being the "father of raw foods."
Here's some stuff for your study time/research
RAW FOOD TIP for the day:
Reducing cost on food. So while eating organic & locally grown food is the best choice we can make, we also have to acknowledge that we do the best that we can given our current set of circumstances, whatever they may be. That being said, it's good to know that you have options while you are grocery shopping. Here is a link where you can download a pocket guide to the best and worst fruits/veggies to buy if you weren't going to go the all organic route: foodnews.org - This is also helpful to have if you find yourself on vacation and in places where the amount of organic food in stores might be limited. I say again: I advocate and encourage you to eat locally, sustainably and organically and yet I do feel I need to send out this tip.
By the way, I have an e-book that is available for download which has many cost-saving tips in it on how to eat organic, raw food within your budget! Here's the link to that as well: Raw Food Made Economical eBook Here's that recipe for the week This recipe CRACKS me up. I love it. I found it here. What a great reminder... This is from the website: Serving Size Variable This recipe has been handed down through my family since Olden Tymes. Ingredients
Preparation Take APPLE and say ”Thank You Universe for the Yummy Sustenance!” ”Thank You For Giving Me This Energy to Fulfill my Deep(er) Purposes!!!” *Chew 75-150 times. Linda's notes: Try this with a carrot or a cucumber out of your garden. Try this with a salad. Do this with whatever you are eating. Bless it. Keep it simple. So be it. OK, I'm outta here. Enjoy your week and start adding some raw food to your meal today!
P.S. Need some bulk food items? Well, send me an email or check out what I have on my products page! I have more than what is listed. My friend told me I'm like a chinese market here. COOL! I love it! I'll add more to the site. I just need to find another me to do some work so I can do other stuff... :-D
