this week's RAWformation
Greetings and raw salutations!
Hoping you are doing well and are enjoying sunshine! If you aren't feeling well and happy, please consider more raw food in your daily diet! :-)
Interesting: I spoke with someone yesterday who mentioned that "this is a good time of year for raw food" that her body didn't want raw food in the winter time and my first thought was "EVERY day is a good day for raw food!" I really hope that each one of you finds what works for you. I hope that if you have a curiosity about raw food that you explore/experiment more with it because it IS something that is done beautifully throughout each season. I LOVE eating seasonally, sustainably, locally, organically and with lots of fresh living food. It seems to make so much sense for me. It fits well into Vermont living just as much as it fits into Hawaii or Costa Rica living. It's awesome to be RAWsome! :-)
A few notices I'd like to post this week. First, please notice the change in FROM email address. I'm finally using the vt-fiddle account. Website to be launched soon (I hope!) We also are utilizing actual listserve capabilities from my web host so I'm not using my email account. If that's too technical for you, just know that it's just a way to be more efficient and streamlined here. This also is supposed to give you an opportunity to manage your account... I Love technology! Here's the link for subscriptions management
Second, check this out. My friend sent it to me. This is fun to me because my family owned a bike store for 82 years and I'm always fascinated with the abilities people have with bicycles. click here - 2 young women doing stunts on bikes. Great thing to watch. (Robin, please forward to Maggie!)
Third is an appeal to this group. Matt and I are moving along with our plans for Fiddle Heads - for those of you who aren't aware, we'd like to have a community market and cafe here in Worcester where we will be showcasing raw foods and local goods/services arts/crafts. We'd like to put out a call for help. We'd love whatever you can offer, whether it be volunteer time, expertise, arts/crafts goods/services to sell or a willingness, commitment and funds to being a partner with us. There's lots to do and so I'm looking for serious people to join me in whatever way you can. I'm looking for those who have the ability to give AND receive. Those who want to have this fun responsibility (definition of responsibility: ABILITY TO RESPOND and BEING A SOURCE OR CAUSE - isn't that RAWsome?) If you are considering being a part of the community market, I'm totally looking to sell local books, products, resources for health and well-being and that are inspirational.
As many of you know, when you incorporate more raw foods in your life, your whole way of living/loving begins to change. It's as if the inner beauty that is in all of us finds an easy way to show itself and manifest into great experience (life). I feel most alive, very aware and present to myself and to people around me. It's not the be all-end all, but it's one of many incredible ways to live. It might not be for everyone but I'm happy and excited to have a raw community around here. So, give it some thought and contact me if you want to talk more. linda@vt-fiddle.com

I'm having another Level 1 class this Friday (April 27) from 3-8 pm. If you didn't make last week, please contact me to come this Friday. We have lots of fun. 7 gorgeous recipes and you learn a LOT! I love teaching these classes for many reasons but mostly because of how much it inspires people to make easy changes in their diet/lifestyle. There are so many ways to eat - this is just another way to eat food in the freshest way possible. For more info, please go here
There will be a Health Festival at Montpelier High School on Saturday, April 28th from 10 - 5. I will have some raw food samples for you to try and will be present to meet you and answer questions you have about raw food. I will also have spiral slicers, nut milk bags / sprouting bags and Alissa's book for sale. I'm very curious to see all of the exciting things in the health and healing arenas and am happy to be a part of it. Please stop by and see me to say hello and sample a treat.
That's enough for now. Enjoy spring and all that it brings you. I saw a woodchuck this morning. We just watched each other for a little while. I think he was wanting to soak up some sun like me

raw food recipe for this week
heart chakra juice
this recipe is from rawguru.com
What a cute recipe. I don't personally drink too many juices anymore nor do I take supplements since being on a raw food diet but this was just too cute to pass up. I know that many of you juice and there certainly are great reasons to juice. So enjoy!
Serves 1-2 people
1 head of kale
1 bunch of parsley
1 garlic clove
1 cucumber
1/2 head of celery
5 radishes
How to: Juice everything and love yourself!
Take good care!
